BestCare Treatment Services is recruiting for a Full-time Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Services Coordinator.
Job Summary: The Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Services Coordinator works under the general direction of the I/DD Program Manager, providing coordination of services for persons experiencing intellectual or developmental disabilities. Services Coordinators provide information and referral services to program participants and families, and develop new local resources to address the needs of program participants and families. Services Coordinators also coordinate services with other local and statewide agencies and providers. This position requires frequent contact with the public and works with individuals and family members who may be in crisis or extreme distress. Situations that may arise in this position may require novel and innovative responses. Most situations require knowledge of the Oregon system of care for persons experiencing intellectual or developmental disabilities. This position requires frequent contact with local helping agencies. Successful Service Coordinators are frequently self-starters, require little direct supervision, and are people oriented

Language: Bi-Lingual Spanish/English strongly preferred
Education: Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science, social science or a closely related field; or a bachelor’s degree in any field and one year of human services related experience; or an associate’s degree in behavioral science, social science or a closely related field and two years of human services related experience; or three years of human services related experience.
Licenses or Certificates: Valid Oregon Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
Knowledge and Skill Sets:
- Knowledge of the public service system for intellectual/developmental disability services in Oregon a must.
- Must possess knowledge of Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Services Coordinator principles and self-determination.
- Must be familiar with Oregon Administrative Rules governing services to person with intellectual/developmental disabilities. Must have a working knowledge of the public service system for intellectually or developmentally disabled adults and children in Oregon.
- Must have demonstrated skills in developing cooperative and collaborative efforts with providers, families, advocates, and persons with developmental disabilities. Must have interpersonal skills necessary to assist and advocate for program participants in group and individual settings.
- Must have the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
- Must have the ability to work independently and complete all responsibilities in a thorough and timely manner.
- Must have the ability to represent the interests of the Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Program and BestCare Treatment Services in a favorable light to clients and the community.
- Must have the ability to monitor and maintain budget expenditures.
- Satisfactory criminal history check conducted through the Oregon Department of Human Services.
- Attends interagency meetings and training.
- Provides coordination and follow-up with social service agencies, medical providers, and other allied agencies and institutions to ensure continuity of care and an integrated service system.
- Provides case management services to all clients. Services are provided in a variety of community settings, with consideration to client preference. Services are prioritized in accordance OAR 411-320-0090
- Attends required case manager trainings.
- Provides information and referral to services and programs available to persons experiencing intellectual or developmental disabilities and as applicable their families. Assists clients in acquiring services and resources needed to achieve goals and maintain independency within the community.
- Works in close collaboration with families, community partners, residential providers, and other social service agencies.
- Completes timely clinical documentation of services provided, reports, correspondence, and behavioral data to address the needs of a variety of agencies including Office of Developmental Disabilities Services , State Department of Humans Services, BestCare Treatment Services, and as required by all applicable Oregon Administrative Rules and Oregon Revised Statutes.
- Conducts all work consistent with an appropriate professional code of ethics.
- Acts independently in the community and promotes a positive image of Jefferson County, the Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Program, and BestCare Treatment Services.
- Protects confidentiality and client rights of all program participants of BestCare Treatment Services at all times according to policy and procedure.
- Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.
- Serve as liaison between the agency and community or other County personnel; provide high level technical information and referral expertise and service relating to the program; make presentations to community groups and provide program training to staff, volunteers, etc.
Tools and Equipment Used:
Must have competency using a computer for word-processing, database and internet usage to include experience with Word, Excel, and Outlook. Must be able to operate typical office equipment including fax machine, scanner, copy machine, telephone, and projector.

Work is performed indoors and outdoors where some safety considerations exist from physical labor and handling of light-to-medium weight, yet, awkward materials. Services Coordinators are subject to travel.
