Addiction Prevention

The number of patients who’ve expressed regret for ever doing drugs or drinking in the first place is infinite. While we are focused on helping others recover from addiction, we also work with law enforcement, education, business and faith-based institutions to create prevention programs to help others from ever getting addicted.

BestCare has a dynamic ATOD (Alcohol, Tobacco & Other Drugs) Prevention Program in Jefferson County. The program provides the community with education and information about drugs, alcohol, bullying, gambling, and how to raise kids to be drug-free. Our focus is on the local youth and helping support them to have a healthy sense of self-worth, empathy, coping and refusal skills in response to peer pressure.

Please consider attending our monthly Prevention Coalition meeting, which is normally held the 3rd Wednesday of each month, 11:15-1:30 pm at the BestCare Prevention Office, 242 SW 4th Street, Madras. During some months when there are holidays, the schedule is subject to change. To be added to the Prevention Coalition mailing list for monthly notifications, please email cindyb@bestcaretreatment.org.
